Deacons are men who have the following qualifications: confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, answered the call of God to become Deacon, have under gone practical and biblical training and demonstrated to be spiritually mature, and have been publicly ordained by our jurisdictional Bishop and recommended the churches of the Church Of God In Christ.

Deacons focus on helping the church run effectively and smoothly in operation, ministry, and fellowship in accordance to the vision set forth by our Pastor. They also provide support for all church functions on and off location, and help when needed providing home repair or maintenance for the elderly and widows.

The men who serve on the Imani Temple of Temecula Deacons Board have the following qualifications:

  • Confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,  
  • Answered the call of God to become Deacon ,
  • Under gone practical and biblical training
  • Demonstrated to be spiritually mature.
  • Have been appointed by the local pastor
  • Have been publicly ordained by our jurisdictional Bishop.   

    Deacons focus on helping the church run effectively and smoothly in operation, ministry, and fellowship in accordance to the vision set forth by our Pastor. They also provide support for all church functions on and off location, and help when needed to include:.  

  1. Assisting the pastor and elders in the administration of the ordinances of the church such as Holy Communion, Baptismals, and Feet Washing.
  2. Assisting in collection of the church offerings when assigned and working with the accounting department to ensure accurate and error free data input into the Accounting Management System.
  3. Supporting and encourage the congregation to support the Pastor and various programs he has set forth
  4. Fulfilling the assignment received from the Chairman of the Deacon Board

Specific Assignments:

  1. When designated or assigned, conduct the receipt of public offerings
  2. Count monies received and transferred to the Accounting Division.
  3. Recommend to leadership any person to be considered for service as a deacon.
  4. Fulfill various duties when assigned by the Chairman of the Deacon Board
